Application of Refrigeration Dryer
Technical requirements: Compressed air must comply with ISO 8573-1 Class 1 (solid particles ≤ 0.1μm, oil content ≤ 0.01mg/m³, pressure dew point ≤ -40℃), but the refrigerated dryer combined with precision filtration (0.01μm filter element) can meet Class 4 requirements and is used for bottle blowing, filling and other links.
Key role: Humid air can cause rust on metal surfaces and agglomeration of paint particles. The refrigerated dryer controls the pressure dew point below 7°C, ensuring that the moisture content of the spray air is ≤5g/Nm³, reducing coating bubble defects (defect rate drops from 12% to 3%).
Precision requirements: Semiconductor wafer manufacturing requires air dew point ≤-20°C (normal pressure), but when the refrigerated dryer is used in series with the adsorption dryer, the cost can be reduced by 40% (compared with the pure adsorption solution), while meeting the Class 2 standard (pressure dew point ≤-40°C).
The thermal sensitivity of the material fixes the temperature-time limits for safe drying. For many materials, the rate of thermal degradation follows an Arrhenius relationship, and the maximum permissible working temperature falls exponentially with an increase in holding time. Polymers may be safely dried in a fluidized-bed dryer, for example, in which the dwell-time of the particles may be of the order of 10 to 20 min while in a static bed, with its inherently slower drying rates, drying conditions would have to be very mild and the associated dryer large and costly. Spray dryers for the manufacture of milk products can be operated with an air-inlet temperature of the order of 200°C since the residence time of particles in the drying chamber is very short, of the order of 20s or less. Nevertheless, it is sometimes necessary to dry thermolabile materials under vacuum to reduce process temperatures. Freeze-drying can only be undertaken below the triple-point pressure of 630 Pa. Sensitive pharmaceutical products are dried in agitated vacuum pans. Degrade of timber for high-quality end use can be reduced by seasoning under vacuum, rather than by a lengthier kiln-drying schedule at atmospheric pressure.

Components of Refrigeration Dryer
Refrigeration compressor:
It is the heart of the refrigeration system, which compresses the refrigerant gas at low temperature and low pressure into the refrigerant gas at high temperature and high pressure, and finally discharges it from the exhaust pipe.
Condenser
The function is to cool the high-pressure, superheated refrigerant vapor discharged from the refrigerant compressor into a liquid refrigerant, and its heat is taken away by the cooling water or cooling air, so that the refrigeration process can be carried out continuously.
Evaporator
It is the main heat exchange part of the refrigeration dryer, the compressed air is forced to cool in the evaporator, and the water in it is condensed into liquid water and discharged out of the machine. The low-pressure refrigerant liquid is transformed into low-pressure refrigerant vapor in the evaporator, which absorbs the surrounding heat during the phase change process and cools the compressed air.
Expansion valve
The thermodynamic expansion valve (capillary) is the throttling mechanism of the refrigeration system. In the refrigeration dryer, the supply of the evaporator refrigerant and its regulator are realized by means of a throttling mechanism. The throttling mechanism allows the refrigeration to enter the evaporator from the high-temperature and high-pressure liquid.
